howdy (; I'm Kaylee !
& I would love to paint for you.
I'm a full-time artist in the heart of the Midwest: central Iowa. My cat, Crusty, and I spend many hours together painting in the studio.
I have been painting for a long time- at weddings since the summer of '22 and for an income since the summer of '19!
I really really really love my job.
I'm a follower of Christ, gardener, baker/aspiring homesteader, youth leader, part-time writing tutor and floral assistant, crossfitter, and a woman of many hobbies (;
why fruited?
In John 12:24, Jesus tells his disciples this as He prepares them for His death on the cross, during The Last Supper, "Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."
My path to becoming an artist has been eventful; many opportunities had to "die" for me to be where I am. My mom, or "Mama Shawn," went to be with our heavenly Father on February 1st, 2023, after a long battle with breast cancer. My little lady! And my personal prayer warrior. As I navigated the grief and what I should be doing with my life and career in my last semester of college, in the wake of my mom's homecoming, I heard God's voice through the gospels, in the book of John.
I aim to produce many seeds, and through those sown seeds, some good fruit, through my artwork.
I wholeheartedly believe the Lord brought me here. And I know that Mama Shawn would love what Fruited Paint has become. So thanks for coming by ((:
